Nellie Day was a writer for The Balance Small Business covering the business of real estate. Nellie Day has been working in the commercial real estate industry for over 10 years. She is a freelance writer for a number of regional, national, and international publications, and serves as a marketing and PR consultant for real estate firms.

Day began her real estate career working for a national commercial real estate brokerage and investment firm. She spent four years supporting brokers who handled multi-million-dollar deals, helping new agents get on their feet, creating a client feedback system, and assisting with key public relations and marketing campaigns.

After receiving her Master's in journalism from USC, Day served as contributing editor and associate editor of a Southern California-based commercial real estate publication and online news website.

Now a full-time writer and consultant, Day has covered the industry from every angle and stage within the market cycle. Her journalistic expertise has allowed her to advise PR companies, marketing departments and real estate firms on the best ways to position themselves and their clients within the commercial landscape. From macro trends within the global marketplace to the sale of a land lot in a small town, Day has covered a broad range of real estate subjects.
