Apryl Duncan is a former writer for The Balance Small Business who contributed dozens of articles during a stretch of more than eight years. Duncan wrote stories on several topics for The Balance brand, including career path basics, marketing's impact on a business, and advertising. As a freelance writer and copywriter of more than 20 years, Duncan's writing has been published worldwide and translated into nine languages.

Prior to trying her hand at freelancing, Duncan had a long career in advertising. She first started her career by writing copy for local television commercials and has more than a decade of related experience. She also taught online advertising courses. Today, she is a proud stay-at-home mom who continues to freelance on the side.


Apryl attended the University of Tennessee, majoring in communications with a minor in sociology. She completed her B.A. in Communications at Honolulu University.
